Air Fryer Buffalo Wings
Today I read that 1.3 billion (!!!!) chicken wings are consumed Super Bowl weekend alone. This is a statistic that I can’t quite wrap my head around. We recently got the Butcher Box Wings for Life deal and I’m darn glad we did. I love chicken wings and now we eat a ton of them every month! I don’t think we’ll ever quite reach 1.3 billion, but thanks to this deal we might come close! Just kidding.

Mike got me an air fryer for Christmas and I have been using it up a storm. So far that thing hasn’t spit out something I don’t like. Since I’m getting more and more comfortable with it I decided it’s time to start posting some air fryer recipes on the blog! And what better way to kick it off than with everyone’s favorite: buffalo wings!

A Super Bowl party isn’t complete without wings of some sort. Chicken wings and football just go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you’re doing a Whole30 and you own an air fryer, do I have a treat in store for you! Chicken wings were the very first thing I ever made in my air fryer. They come out SO crispy simply by patting them dry and seasoning them with salt. I was amazed and I fell in love with my air fryer that very evening.

Do you like your wings dry or with the sauce on them? It’s a split in my house, as is usually the case. I’m on team saucy and Mike is team sauce on the side. Except when I photographed the wings for this recipe he stole a few and kept telling me how delicious the wings were with the sauce on. Go figure!
I highly recommend serving these wings with a side of dressing or sauce. If you’re doing a Whole30 and you want to make it yourself, I got you. Here’s a link to my Ranch Dressing which pairs perfectly with these wings!

What are your plans for the Super Bowl? This year Mike and I will be going to my mom’s. We don’t have cable or local channels at the apartment so we have to go somewhere if we want to watch the game. I’m actually excited about the Super Bowl this year since there’s no chance the Patriots will win it. Even though I live in New England I am definitely NOT a Patriots fan. It seems as though they find themselves in the Super Bowl waaaaay more often than I’m interested in seeing them there. Give the other guys a chance! Maybe Tom Brady will retire soon and they’ll only get to go to the Super Bowl like once a decade or something. A girl can dream!

But this Sunday, I just hope everyone has fun!

Method
- Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels and season with a few cranks of sea salt. Place in a single layer in the basket of an air fryer. Be sure to leave space all around each chicken wing so that they can get crispy! Air fry at 400° F for 15 minutes until cooked through completely.
- Add the ghee to a large microwave safe bowl. Melt in 15 second increments until melted completely. Whisk in the Frank's Red Hot, coconut aminos (if using), and garlic powder. When combined, add the air fried chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat. Serve hot and enjoy!
